From Cancer to Crops: Dr Cong Vu’s PhD Journey Featured by UNSW

UNSW Sydney has published a feature on our founder, Dr Cong Vu, tracing his path from nanomedicine research to founding NanoSoils Bio.

The article looks back at Cong’s PhD in nanotechnology at UNSW’s School of Chemistry, where he developed nanoparticles to deliver anti-cancer drugs more precisely to tumour cells, and explains how that same nanoparticle platform is now being adapted for agriculture to improve pesticide uptake and reduce chemical use on farms.

It also covers the early proof-of-concept trial using seeds bought from Bunnings, the support Cong received through UNSW’s Scientia PhD Scholarship and the NSW Department of Primary Industries incubator, and the ongoing mentorship of his PhD supervisor, Professor Justin Gooding, who remains an advisor to NanoSoils Bio today.
